Measurements of the buckles are taken from the upper wing span.
The 50mm buckle is a perfect fit for 1 inch (25mm) wide ribbons, while the 35mm buckle is great for 5/8" (16mm) ribbons. However, both may still be used with wider ribbons for a gathered look.
